Columbine

Aquilegia looks delicate, but it grows right here primarily
in one of our crappiest flowerbeds, out of gravel and concrete detritus.
It also grows in high meadows and the woodlands of the Rocky Mountains,
not exactly an easy place to be glamorous and frilly.
